BILL MAYS (pianist, composer, arranger) was born February 5, 1944 in Sacramento, California. A first call accompanist and sideman, Mays worked with Sarah Vaughn, Anita O’Day, Al Jarreau and Frank Sinatra as well as Bobby Shew, Art Pepper, Alan Broadbent and Ernie Watts. Moving to New York in 1984 , Mays became more active in leading his own projects, both as a soloist and trios, producing a number of albums in his name as well as working with Phil Woods, Ron Carter, Ray Drummond, Ed Bickert and countless others. Mays composing and arranging talents have produced classical suites, charts for big bands and symphonies and music for films.
